Learning

This will be a great way to find out what others are creating in the teaching field and to also find out what others are doing for fun in their personal lives.

Right now I have a group of seniors working on their P.I.G. bills and their topics are quite diverse.

On a personal level, I'm ready for my cup of tea after school when I can catch a chapter or two on the current book by Brad Thor before starting dinner.

  1. Congrats on getting your blog set up! Welcome to the program. Question for you - what are P.I.G. bills? Can you tell I don't work in a school? :)

  2. PIG is Participation in Government a required class for the seniors. They have started the research so they can present their bills after the holidays. I was helping with NYS gambling laws, Senior citizen drivers, corporations within schools, i.e. Starbucks coming in and having a small store in a school and cafeterias in schools serving food that is questionable.(animal rights plays into this one.) That is just a sample of the many bills being thought out at this stage of the game.

  4. Interesting blog, Deborah. Welcome to the class. (I bet you didn't know I was the neighborhood hula-hoop champ, a long time ago, and now can only do it using the weighted ones!)
